The 52nd Floor is a bit of an experiment. The aim is to write one tiny story every week. The whole point of this is pretty simple really – its a way to turn off all the filters and just write, and see what happens.
It’s also a battle I’m having with myself. Just to see if I can keep this thing on the boil for a whole year, in amongst a whole host of other commitments.
Feel free to comment, drop me a line, or let me know what you think.
Why the 52nd floor? Did something happen here? Did something poignant happen here? Is it a famous literary floor that the ignorant, like me, don’t know about? I need answers otsmeister!
Actually it’s not that mysterious. Was just another way of saying “52 Stories”.
I love short stories. What a wonderful collection of little gems you have here!
Over a year after 1F, I came, I saw, I stayed! All by following a sweet, innocent-looking rabbit down a mysterious hole (I “stumbled” in by way of otsland).
Contrary to my expectations (the web being saturated with “vanity press” stories, poetry and essays that are so mind-numbingly full of self-importance it makes them unreadable), these stories are not only well-written and relevant, they are actually good reading. I think “Cali” should be mandatory reading for all bandwagon-jumping celebrities and “To Do” be printed as a warning label.
